Life, Love and everything in between

First wedding of 2010

Wedding season is off to a good start.  I assisted my friend Amy with a wedding last weekend.  Chad and Mabely got married in the Mormon Temple in Bellevue,  we were unable to photograph the ceremony, so we waited with the family outside of the temple and greeted the Newly married couple as the exited.  We took a few family group shots before stealing the Bride and Groom for a few hours before the reception.  The light was absolutely beautiful at the Larsen Blueberry farm,  It was, as photographers would say "the magic hour" my personal favorite time of the day!  Amy is a great photographer, she always has creative props!  Huge red balloons, umbrellas ect, it's always fun.
Mabely is originally from Peru, they met while Chad was doing missionary work last year. she looked like a princess in her wedding dress.
....here is one of my favorite shots from the shoot.

Engagement session with Norah & Sayer at the Arboretum

I love Norah & Sayer's style.  I can't wait for their wedding in May.
We met at the University of Washington & walked down to the Arboretum.   It was sort of an adventure... climbing in trees, in search for a tree they had once carved their names in.  The arboretum was beautiful and the light was perfect.
Here are some of my favorite shots

2010 Olympics

Attending the Olympics is a once in a lifetime opportunity, I can't believe we were able to go.  It was a birthday present for my husband, ever since he was a kid he wanted to attend the Olympics.  We figured that it couldn't get any closer to home than Whistler.  We shared a condo in the North Village with a bunch of friends. Here are a few of the photos....
I loved it

Engagement Photos in Olympia {Patrick & Erin}

December 2009
I met Patrick & Erin for the first time this December, they were home for Christmas.  Their wedding will be this summer at her parents house in Olympia, they have a beautiful home looking over a lake.  At first they were a little nervous- they weren't used to being in front of a camera.  But it didn't take long for them to relax. And the pictures turned out fantastic!  They are a cute couple and I can't wait for their wedding.
I uploaded a shutterfly photo share site with their engagement photos- http://patrickanderin.shutterfly.com/

{Hans & Mindy} Pikes Market Wedding Photos

 11/09/2009
Hans & Mindy got married in November of 2009. As the wedding day approached we were very nervous about the weather, we had a 60% chance of rain. And in Seattle that usually means it is going to rain. Some how we got lucky-  it turned out to be a beautiful day. Just in case I rented vintage umbrellas from Bella Umbrellla in Ballard.  They came in handy blocking the sun oddly enough.
The morning started at the Sorento Hotel, where the girls were getting ready...  My good friend Amy Kiel assisted me, she is a fantastic local wedding photographer.  After the Hotel we went downtown to Pioneer Square to start taking our "group photos" Mindy and the Bridesmaids wore rain boots, definitely a nice touch - Mindy  and Hans really wanted their wedding photos to represent Seattle, so the next stop was Pikes Market.   The bridal party had to stop traffic for a few of the shots but everything worked out.  Their ceremony and reception were both hosted at The Palace Kitchen- It was beautiful, Tom Douglas is a a great chef.  The wedding ceremony had a distinct  flare-

Check out their wedding album to see more pictures.

Wedding Photos at Tibbetts Creek Manor with {Shylo & Brett)

August 2009-
Genevieve and I showed up at the Tibbett's Creek Manor before anybody else. When Shylo and Brett arrived they were very casual, the perfect attitude for a summer afternoon wedding.   Shylo has great style, both her wedding dress and the bridesmaid dress were vintage.  She was a beautiful bride, very relaxed and happy, she never stop smiling.

The Tibbetts Creek Manor is a great place for an afternoon wedding, they were catered by the Rainier Club, and their signature cocktail was Absolut Grapefruit vodka with pink grapefruit juice.
 Perfect afternoon wedding.

{Melinda & Darrin} Bainbridge Island Wedding

~Melinda and Darrin~
I've know Melinda for a few years so I was so excited to photograph her and Darrin's wedding. They were getting married in the house that Melinda grew up in,  her parents live on a gorgeous Herb farm on Bainbridge Island.   My amazing assistant Genevieve and I took the ferry over early in the morning so we could get pictures of the girls getting ready.

I love when when bride and groom agree to taking the majority of the group portraits before the ceremony, this ensures that they have more time to spend with their friends and family, and we have more time to take photos.

Their wedding was very unique, there was so much time spent on the details... They hung hand made lanterns from the trees, the bouquets that the both Melinda and the bridesmaids carried were made with flowers from her garden.  Everything was Beautiful!  Melinda and Darrin wrote their own vows, Jen and Mark performed a song when Melinda walked down the isle... barefoot.

Dinner was served under a white tent... Everything was elegant but casual... Everyone was dancing up until the very end....

In Melinda and Darrin's words..... So this is Love

Engagement Photos {Bryan & Regan}

Engagement Photos with Bryan and Regan... I always encourage couples to do an engagement shoot before the wedding,  It's the perfect opportunity to get to know them as a couple.  Bryan & Regan were in Seattle for the weekend, fortunetely they were able to get together for a few hours before they went back hom eot Spokane.  We met at the University of Washington and walked around for a few hours. The campus is gorgeous and is a great spot for Engagement Photos. I'm super excited to be apart of their wedding this summer.

{Shawn + Thalia} Gig Harbor Beach Wedding

Shawn and Thalia-
Genevieve and I had the privelage of documenting their wedding.  It was a beautiful, clear, sunny day for this awesome couple who are SO VERY MUCH in love! They were surrounded by close friends and family for an intimate ceremony on a private beach.  A friend played music as Thalia arrived beach side on a small boat.

They had a close friend sketch a picture of the ceremony.

Everyone was invited to the reception which was later that day at the Gig Harbor Yacht Club-   They played a slide show of the ceremony that had video footage and photos from the ceremony.
..............another beautiful wedding
